About

Every song has a story…

Looking Out The Window is more than a regular music podcast. The show peeks inside the musicians’ studios to find out what inspires their songs. Matthew Ebel - photo by CC ChapmanIt’s an intimate look inside the music directly from the artists that makes their songs all the more meaningful. The unique combination of artist insight and great music spanning blues, pop, and rock makes Looking Out The Window more than your typical music podcast. It’s a music podcast with a heart for the true meaning of a song.

Take a look at the musician’s inspiration, and you may be inspired yourself.

ABOUT ED ROBERTS

Ed Roberts is a multi-talented professional and a well known and respected member of the new media and podcasting community. He’s a father, Christian, IT professional, and former broadcast meteorologist in metro Kansas City. His love for the weather prompted him to start the Kansas City Weather Podcast in early 2005, and it remains one of the most prolific shows in the all of podcasting.

Ed has always been an active musician. His musical experience is also rather broad and varied. He’s sung with the Cincinnatti Symphony as a part of a nationally selected male chorus and played violin in jazz combos and in orchestra settings. He’s also sung and played drums (mostly hand percussion such as conga, djembe, etc.) in several Christian music groups and worship teams.

That love for music prompted him to start both Looking Out The Window and Podsafe Christmas in 2006.

“I am constantly amazed at the breath of incredible music that was essentially hidden from the world before the advent of the internet, and specifically new media. It is truly an honor to be able to promote such incredible talent through the podcasts. It’s given me a whole new appreciation for music.”
